DAT file conversion

If the file contains only ascii text, just rename the extension from *.dat to *.doc. It will then open in word. After doing any reformatting of the text you can then save as a normal word document.

Thank you. But it does not work that way. When I rename, it continues to be a DAT file. Is this a compuserve problem?
