Hi:

My HDD just crashed and I formated it. After I install win98 the screen is unreadable. What I found courious is that
When I start up in safe mode the screen seems to be OK.

So I download from trident the drivers for the PCI Video card but with no luck. After installed the driver the screen is unreadable again.

Windows also detects the card and install its own drivers but no luck either the screen is unreadable if I boot in normal mode.

The video card does not has a brand on it but one of the chips says Trident - 9440 wich is the driver windows try to install and the one I downloaded.

What could I do? Why in safe mode the screen seems to be alright? Could it be a conflict with the sound or any other card? Any help would be apreciated.

My system have:
Pentium mmx 133MHz,
858 Mb HDD,
32 Mb Ram,
Trident PCI Card,

Thanx,
Mr.In Trouble

Make sure you don't have it installed in a shared slot. Try another pci slot.

Trident cards seem to have a lot of problems. Also it may be that your video is set to a resolution or scan frequency that your monitor can't handle. Delete the adaptor from device manager in system in control panel and then reboot. Windows should set up the video adaptor in 640 x 480 and 60 hz scan (if scan is adjustable).
