I have often cleaned out C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder in the past without causing any problems on my machine.

Now, I've discovered C:\TEMP folder, and I am wondering if I can clean it out without causing problems. Actually, I've already deleted the many files in there but they are still in my Recycle bin.

Temp folders should only contain files which are by definition, expendable. My disk cleaning utility routinely deletes all files in them automatically.

It's basically the same as c:\windows\temp. If you've done two successfull boots without any new software loading, go ahead and delete the entire folder. C:\temp was used by dos program installations majorly.

A good policy is to empty the recycle bin prior to cleaning the temp files. Then re-boot and run things for awile. If no problems, then you can safely empty the bin. Same goes for any deletion.
