cshook.vxd file missing

i had been geeting this error- "cshook.vxd is missing. your system.ini file points to this file which is missing"

i kept restarting my computer and finally i managed to start it up. But now the icons and all have a very unfinished look.

pls help me on this.

Hi Shalini Rai,

CSHOOK.VXD is part of Norton Utilities Clean Sweep. Did you recently try and uninstall Clean Sweep or any other programs?

Hi shhalini,
i think u go start-run than type regedit than go edit menu & click find &type your missing file name & than click find next if u get file press del key & delete this address line I sure 95% your problem is solve
