I recently rebuilt my parent's computer using an Asus p4g533-la motherboard from an hp pavilion 526x.(their old board was ancient)the old board had cs 4280-cm onboard audio.everything seems to work fine, except that when the computer boots, it says"soundfusion chip not found." I tried to install a pci sound card, and it tells me to install the card in the primary pci bus slot, and then it hangs. I've tried putting the card in every slot, but the same problem pops up. does the one problem have to do with the other? any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. thnx, Brian

Did you disable the on-board sound from BIOS before trying the new add-on card?
Was this a reformat?

Leave the new sound card out and boot normally. Go to add/remove programs in control panel and see if you can remove the old sound drivers.
At what point in the booting process does it 'hang'?

there is no onboard audio setting in the bios, and the drivers are uninstalled. I'm thinking that it is a problem with the motherboard, because everything on it was proprietary
