creating win98 boot disk using CD

Comment:
I currently have a 'blank' PC and would like to install win98 on it. However I only have the Win98 CD and a Win2k machine. the blank PC can only boot from floppy - I've serched the net and can only find instructions which assume that you already have win98 installed on the PC (whats the point of creating a boot disk to install 98 if you need 98 to create them from !!??) Please help - is there anyway to create the boot disk from the CD alone?

As I stated above - the PC doesn't have the option to boot from CD-ROM

Is there some reason why you cannot boot from a floppy (to ANY OS) and then run "setup" from the CD?

Daniel,
Yes you can create a bootdisk from the CD.
Or you can go to http://www.bootdisk.com
To create it from a CD. Put CD in PC and select browse this cd. Select tools>mtsutil>fat32ebd. Insert a floppy and select fat32ebd. A boot disk will now be created.

I could install win2k but the setup program won't work from this due to incompatibilites between the 2 OS's
Unless anyone knows different!?

Creating from fat32edb causes some issues in win2000 - states that the program is trying to access the HD and fails.
I've downloaded the boot disk from bootdisk.com and now installing Win98 okay
Many Thanks Mesich !!
