I want to be able to record lp albums to my computer in order to make a cd from it. How do I change the time limit in my sound recorder to be longer so I can record the entire song?

.Wav files are just too huge for the purpose of archiving CD tracks to Hard Disk. There are several MP3 rippers out there that will convert CD music. The resulting files are tiny compared to .WAVs. I don't know the URL of one off-hand, but a search of "MP3" will turn some up. Though I suspect that someone will chime in with the name of a product and its URL shortly.

You should know that 1 minute is approximately 10mb's. I'm not sure if you can convert MP3 to audio files [.cda] when you make an audio CD but you should be able to get a good Wave editor from most software sites. Some can filter out the scratches from LP's [I remember them from my teen days] but you might have to pay some bucks for a good one. Try this site to start with;

Total Recorder is a good wav recorder.I don't remember seeing an mp3 recorder that didn't record directly off a CD, but I haven't looked in 6 mths. There are programs to convert avi into mp3, that I know.
davecentral.com, download.com have all sorts of stuff.

You should check out cooledit pro or Cooledit 2000. with this program you can make your very own really great .WAV formats.
You can pitch, echo and screw up .Wav files so good it's probably the best program there is for editing .WAV files...
You can find COOLEDIT PRO on Twighlight 37b
So... I hope that I made you to some use...

I want to backup my old LP's too, but when i record songs with any software (Spin Doctor, Goldwave) it's my believe there's a loss in high frequencies. I mean the quality of the recorded sound is not as I hear it when I'm playing back the vinyl. I use 44.1kH sampling rate and 16bit. Can someone help me?
