Hi,
What do I need to create an iso image of my win95 install CD, and dow do I create
that iso image.
Also: since win95 cds are not bootable cds (there's no autorun.inf file on them), is it easy to transform them into bootable cds?

Thanks for help

I think you need WinImage to make the image.

To make a boot CD, you need a burner that will make a boot CD.

It'll ask you for a boot floppy.

All the w95 files you need on the CD to install w95 are in the win95 directory.

I'm not familiar with all the imaging /burning software out there, but since the CD is not bootable, there is no need to make an ISO first.

In my burning software, you can select "make CD bootable" and it wants to see a floppy.

Simply make a 98 yes, that is right, 98 boot floppy with the files you want on there, including of course fdisk and format. AFTER you have gotten the floppy tested--by booting it and accessing the 95 CD--take the two and make your cd.

NOW incidently, there is enough room on a CD for BOTH the /win98 and the /win95 directories. I've made a bootable CD from which I can install either or both 95 or 98.

This is also handy if your 98 CD is an "upgrade"--you just take an old 95 CD and put the /win95 directory on the same CD, and away you go.

To add to the above, you should be able to create an image of any cd with your burner software.

Beware the hazards of using a Win98 bootdisk to create a Win95 bootable CD...

You'll be OK unless you sys the HD or use the /s switch when formatting (format /s). If you do this & then attempt to install Win95, you'll receive an incorrect DOS version error message.

You'd be much better off using a Win95 boot image, with added CD support.

go to bootdisk.com and download the bootdisk for the windows you want...
them using nero make a bootable cd with the boot disk and then just add the files off of the windows cd and you'll have a bootable windows 95 a,b,c, versions..
