go to the fic homepage and see it they have an updated bios for your motherboard. make sure you note your bios version numbers, you can see these when you boot up you machine. If they have an updated bios , download it, copy it to floppy and then do a cold boot to that floppy, the rest is pretty self explanatory. You will be able to save yourself 40 dollars toward your new video card this way.Remember your will not be able to put a faster cpu than 550 mhz no matter what bios you use. also if the bios update gets interrupted it will render your cmos(bios)useless and you will be going to the shop anyway , so be careful.

Upgrading the Bios is quite easy. I can not seem to remember which kind of bios is on the Fic 503+, but you can tell by doing this. Check on the board to see if you have the flash bios (bios chip mounted on the the mobo), or the standard bios (the removable chip in a plug socket). If it a flash bios, you can just go to the Fic website and download the files to program the bios. Other ways, if you have the standard bios, you just need to replace the chip set.

Good Luck!
