Error 1406: Could not write value to key HKEY_localmachine\software\classes\tsm1st\defaulticon. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact support personnel. I get this message while trying to install TIVOLI. It gets to the part while installing where it updates the registry, and then gives me this error. I have gone into the registry and did a search for the particular key, and it isn't there! Anyone have any ideas? I am an administrator, and have access to everything, so I can't figure this one out. I really, really, really, don't want to reload this laptop.
Error 1406 results from a problem with the Windows Installer Service, a Microsoft Windows feature involved with program installation. The best way to solve this problem is to download version 2.0 of the Windows Installer Service. For Win95/98 machines
