If it doesn't tell you on your POST screen which key to hit then you may have to get on the phone ot the net and locate the computer manufacturer and ask them. Some manufacturer's treat the BIOS as guarded info. Go figure. But if you ask them they will usually tell you. By the way. You have to toggle that key during memory check, which is done during the first few seconds of POST. Boot up and look for a message at the begining on your POST that says "press __ to enter setup". Some of the most common are F5/F8/F10/Delete. Good Luck.

If it is a Brand Name PC, copy and post here the make and model dispalyed on its case(chassis).
If it is a clone, AS SOON AS the Power ON button is pushed and the computer screen flickers, start tapping the most like ly BIOS keys[DEL/F1/F2/F10 or ESC| CTRL-ESC| or CRTL-ALT-ESC]
Try one at a time . Don't switch between likley keys on each attempt. If the screen starts to go to Win95 , Power Off>Power ON and try the next key and so on until you can open the CMOS Setup.
If you can tell us why you want to enter the CMOS setup, someone may be able to tell you any work around for the problem you are trying to fix using CMOS Setup. :-)

If you mean 'compaq' it's F10 to get into setup.
Older ones had a partition on the HD for setup. If you have a compaq but the partition isn't there (F10 doesn't work), you'll need to download the appropriate disks from their site.
