I have a directoy that has 600 folders and I want to copy about 200 folders and their contents(folders and files) that all start with the letter K. Can I use xcopy? if so what is the proper syntax.
I tried xcopy c:\folder\F??? E:\folder /s/v But it wouldn't work.
Any other ideas?

Hello JoelG,
I use back up individual files/folders tool provided by Acronis. It has very comfortable interface.

Maybe like this:

XCOPY C:\folder\K* E:\folder\ /S

But this will only work if there are no files in \folder\, only directories. If there are files with first letter K, they would also be copied.

Try DIR C:\folder\K* to see how it lists things. See XCOPY /?

Best
