I have windows 98 and an hp psc 1210xi all-in-one printer. When I copy pictures off the internet and paste them into Microsoft Word, the pictures don't print. If I view print preview, it shows up though. I tried saving the pictures onto the hard drive and copying and pasting from there, but printing pictures that way doesn't work either. It was printing fine until about a month ago. I also used one of those ink refill kits for my ink. I tried printing in high quality, and that still didn't work. I'm lost. I don't know much about computers so i was hoping someone would be able to help me please... thanks!

Hi Chrissy,

It shows in print preview.

What does it print?

A blank page?

Text only?

Garbled?

Hi Chrissy.

Maybe you have to insert the picture instead of paste.

Here is a link that shows how to insert pictures into Word.

Hi, M2,
It only prints out text.

Hi, Linda,
Thanks for the link. The picture will print if I insert it! ^_^

But I would still like to know how to fix my problem and why it will not print my copied images since it used to print them out. Saving all the pictures and inserting them becomes a hassle especially when I need several pages of pictures for a project. Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

Hi Chrissy,

So much foe WYSIWYG.

It must be something in WORD.

Since there are so many options in tools, I can never find anything there.

But you might want to "reset defaults".

Hi Chrissy.

Do you use "Paste" or "Paste Special"?

Try "Paste Special" and then choose either -

Device Independent Bitmap - OR - Files

and see if one of those prints.

Take care,

Linda

I tried resetting to default and that didn't work. I normally just click paste, but I tried both options for paste special and that also didn't work. I have no idea what is wrong. Thanks for trying to help, though.

I just tried printing the picture off from the webpage by clicking the little print button when you place the mouse over the picture and the picture didn't print! Maybe somethings wrong with my IE or the printer?

Oh, yeah. All it printed was the URL and date at the bottom and the "Page 1 of 1" on the top.

Hm... I just tried saving the picture on my computer and inserting it through Insert, but this time, it didn't print. I don't understand because that other picture printed before when Linda first told me about inserting. I did everything exactly the same way as I did when it first printed. I'm so confused now. x_X

Hi Chrissy.

You could try reinstalling or updating the printer driver.

They have a driver dated April 2004 on the HP site. If you got your printer before April 2004 than the driver on the HP site would be a newer one.

It is 166 MB big. If that is too large a file for you to download, you can order a CD from HP. Or, if you know someone with broadband DSL downloading capabilities, you could ask them to download it for you and burn it to disk.

You can also try removing and reinstalling the driver that came with your printer.

Sometimes drivers get corrupted and cause odd things to happen and reinstalling or updating the device driver will fix things.
