Simply changing the file extension to wav is not going to work.

You might want to try this software at www.softseek.com. It's called Maplay and it's freeware. It converts from .Mp3 > .Wav excellent and it's fast too. I have been using it for a very long time and it works so good. It is a small program and it's easy to use too.

Go to www.softseek.com and type "Maplay" in the Search box.

Good Luck, :)

Use WinAmp -
Open WinAmp, choose file, options, preferences - choose Nullsoft Disk Writer plugin (Out_Disk.DLL). Then choose where on your hard drive you want the wav file to be saved. Then double click your mp3 file as if you were playing it. You won't hear anything but it will create a wav file in the directory you specified. Don't forget to change WinAmp options back or you'll fill up your hard drive trying to play songs!
Good Luck.

Music match jukebox is real good for that.
Found this in music match help file:

Export Playlist Tracks
To quickly convert an entire MP3 Playlist to WAV:

Go to the Options/Playlist/Export Playlist Tracks menu.

Browse your computer and select a destination directory for the .wav files.
(You will be alerted to how much available disk space you have on the specified
drive as well as the estimated space required for the conversion.)

Click Start after selecting a Destination Drive.

You can also click the button, Copy As Is to copy the files from your Playlist
to a directory of your choosing.
