i want to record avi soundtracks and convert them to wav format but am unsure of a way to do this and would appreciate any ideas on software and procedures

I would like to be able to convert avi sound to wav... is there any share ware that would allow that process? Where can I get ahold of these programs?

YO!! At last someone I can help out!! Previously I was helped by this site so I think it's only fair that I help someone too. Okay what you need is a program called Goldwave (www.goldwave.com) it's free and will load avi,mov,mpg,wav,mp3,aiff... etc It's like soundforge but shareware. If you load a video you will see the sound's graphic and you can then edit it. Then save as wav or even mp3. Hope this helps, Valerio C. PS: e-mail for extra info?, tips?, a chat?

I looked the feature of goldwave software and I found it can just convert audio file format to mp3. Is there any software which can be used to get the audio part in avi or mpg file (VCD file) and convert it to mp3 format file directly? Thanks Davis
