I have pop-ups appear almost continuously. This is not while I am using Internet Explorer or Netscape. I have used Ad-Aware and Spybot, and searched my hard drive for anything fishy. When I run Ad-Aware and Spybot, they seem to find the same thing I removed before, sometimes. Any help would be great...

I am not quite sure what type of popups you are getting. If they are the regular advertising ones try a popup stopper program from http://www.panicware.com/. Browse to the product page and you can get their free version. Another program is POW from http://www.analogx.com/, I like it, because it is simple, uses low resources and is foolproof in that it will not interfere with programs that need a popup to work. It is also easy to find and correct things should you make a mistake. You do have to train it, as it is ot totally automatic and it is free. If it is a hijack of some sort go to http://wwww.lurkhere.com/ and get "hijackthis". It is listed in their downloads, nice programs area. Take care and all the best!

I have used Spybot to block all known bad products. To update, without browsing anywhere other than this webpage, a casino connection program was placed on my start menu. The pop-ups are advertisements, but it isn't from going to a specific site, they just appear randomly!

I downloaded and ran HijackThis, but I don't konw enough about hijacking to konw what is safe to delete. The list of items the program found is too long to include in this message. please help!

just do as Capt said.. he/she is right.. Nothing on your machine is going to stop pop-up's without a pop-ad blocker installed.. Meaya is very good, cost a few dollars but worth it.

An excellent (and free) popup stopper is Popup Manager. You can download it from:
www.endpops.com.
It allows you to chose what popups you want to allow. It is very configurable and only shows a little green (or red) widget at the bottom left of your screen.

If your computer is clean, you should not be getting a lot of pop-ups. Go to
Copy and paste the Hijack This log into a post on the forum there and ask for help. Those folks are great at deciphering those logs and finding the problems. Don't worry about it being too long.
