I was looking at a friends computer for them and trying to figure out why there are constant popups of work offline going bezerk on her computer.

They don't even have internet access anymore. I erased every old account, plus the ones listed in Internet options connections tab yet connect offline still appears.

You don't even have to try to open a web page 'why would you want to if your not even online'

I try to launch Nero, work offline?, View My Computer, work offline? pop in a cd rom, work offline?

You get the picture? lol it can be extremely ANNOYING if you know what I mean.

Anyone have any ideas on how to stop the maddness of work offline?

Would be greatly appreciated.

Chad

If it has been on the net did it have antivirus and antispyware programs on. If not get them and run them. Chances are is full of rubbish you never wanted or asked for.
Free antivirus program. I use it myself:-

Free antispyware checker I use myself has to be manually run :-

A square is a malware checker also free. Again has to be run manually :-

Just to add that A Squared has a bias towards trojans, so for that reason it is a useful addition to Ad-Aware etc.

Make sure you download the free version (unless you want to pay).

Bet your both right, it didn't come to me as they said it hasn't been on internet for quite some time. But I guess those spyware could be the culprit lurking from the past.
