Okay, I'm using a PII 233MHz computer with 72
megs of 72 pin RAM, Netscape and IE are freezing, 1.5 gigs on my HD left and cable modem.

I have a feeling it has to do something with the caching of the browsers. I've tried re-installing them but no results. Please help me!!! I'm getting so frustrated when my computer, it's freezing at least 4 times in one night. Thanks.

Delete your history
Delete tempory,recent and temp files.
Delete netscape cache.
Try regclean
Defragment
Does your computer scan the disk
after a crash?
If not do so.
Check for odd winsock.dll that are not in
the system folder.
rename oldwinsock.
Take shortcuts of programs in the startup
folder that you do not want running all
the time.
I have my anti-virus,crash guard, quickres.
I limit my Vcache by putting these lines
in my system.ini
[vcache]
MinFileCache=4096
MaxFileCache=4096
You may already have the
[vcache]
In your system.ini just use these lines
under.
this will limit your 4megs
you may want more I found 4megs works fine.
Also you may want to fix the size of
your WIN386.SWP file.
It will keep it all in one place.
And won't become fragmented.
You can ajust your IE cache View, internet
options, temporary files settings.
Edit, preferences,advance,cache for netscape.
