I have a Compaq Presario 2200. It has 48 MB of RAM with a Cyrix 180 MHZ CPU. It has a 1.5 GB hard drive. Some time ago I reformatted the hard drive and installed win 98 (4.10.1998) I can connect to the internet using Nocharge. But after the Internet Explorer launches it won't go anywhere. I have upgraded the Windows Explorer from 4 to 5 but that didn't seem to help. The error I get is "Internet Explorer extensions are incorrect" or some slight variation of that. Along with "The page cannot be displayed" I've tried many internet addresses and it's the same for all of them. Could this be a setting in the browser I'm missing? Appreciate any help I can get. Also in the title bar of the browser (at the top) it says res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm - Microsoft Internet Explorer Thanks, Stef

Is your internet connection configured properly? Dial-up or high speed?
This message occurs when internet explorer isn't setup properly or a problem with the connection happens. I seen this error many times because of bad LAN settings and bad dsl/ cable settings
