I currently have a wireless adapter installed which connects me to the router. I wanted to see my internet connection would be smoother by connecting directly to the router, rather than wirelessly. When I tried to do so, I got no connection at all. The ethernet card has never given me problems before... and isn't broken. Any suggestions?

Blastoloty,
If the wireless card still resides in the machine and your trying to use the on board Ethernet adapter, you more than likely need to disable the W/L card in the profile to do it. Win98 always seems to remember the last network connection as its only connection.
You will also need to mirror the Wired port with the same setup as the W/L card is configured.
For gaming it seems wired is always better.
