Comment: I'm connecting to the internet via a 56k modem, but when I click on the Internet Explorer icon, it doesn't connect automatically, rather coming up with a message titled 'This page cannot be displayed', and continuing with 'The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.' I now always have to connect through the Dial-Up Networking folder in My Computer. I'm using Windows 98 SE, any help would be appreciated.

Reply: (edit)Check your settings in IE. Right click on Internet Explorer/Properties/Connections tab....Under Dial-up settings, select Always dial my default connection.

Reply: (edit)I don’t know what version of internet explorer you are using (nor if it matters) but here's your answer (it worked 4 me on 5.5) Open up Internet explorer Click on tools --> Internet Option -->Connections (Considering you have already connected to the net.) Change "Never dial a connection" to "Dial Whenever a network is not present"
