Yes, use the LPT port. Or, if you don't mind slower speed, or will not be transferring much data, then you can use a free serial port. Either way, you could of course, use Direct Cable Connection program available with both systems, and the appropriate cable.

You just want to connect them together to transfer a set of files or do you want to connect them for a program function? The Direct Cable Connection works better if you want to be more directly connected and SHARE files or programs. It also takes some setting up and configuring. If you only want to TRANSFER a set of files (such as the Win9x set) from one to the other, get LapLink3 and it connects right now.

I have also seen a LL5 but I haven't tried it. You will have to go get this program and install it but it has been easier for me than messing with DCC every time for just some file transfers. jer...

DCC is Direct Cable Connection, a program in Windows. If you get a parallel cable, it will hook to the LPT port on both computers. If it is serial, it will hook to a COM port on both computers.

Sorry, didn't see your last post. Yes, it is possible to connect both computers over USB. You would need a USB hub and two cables, or a crossover cable. (I would go the route of the hub, you could possibly connect more than two machines.) I'm not sure what drivers you would use, but I'm sure someone else here would know. If it works, it would blow away any DCC connection :)
