Hey ppl, I've got 2 OS on my pc. They are Win 98 and win2k respectively. Can anyone tell mi how do i configure the 'boot.ini' file to boot win98 by default? [boot loader] timeout=30 default="WHAT DO I PUT HERE?" [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect C:\="Microsoft Windows"
The host of the partiton containing your Windows 98 should be entered.
In your case it should read default=C:\

Ringo, you COULD change the settings in boot.ini directly, but you really SHOULD change them in Win 2K Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup & Recovery. You can change the default system to boot & also change the timeout. The default is 30 seconds. I reset mine to 5 seconds. That's plenty of time to switch from the default if you want to but doesn't slow the bootup sequence very much.
