Comment:
Is it possible to configure two different IP's for one computer (on two NIC's). here is why : I need the computer to connect to both a Unix Server (first IP), and the Cable Modem (second IP), via the same "network" just with 2 separates cable... Is that possible ??? Thanx

If you find out, let me know. I use a network that uses two different network schemes. I want to be able to switch back and forth using two different ip addresses on the same PC. Thanks, bm

It is actually fairly simple. If you have two NIC's on your PC, you will also have two TCP/IP protocol stacks. Go to Network Properties, and you should see TCP/IP bound to each NIC. Double-click one of them, and change the IP, then click OK. Double-click the other, and change its IP. Click OK, then OK. Reboot, and you're done. Make sure you put the correct IP on each NIC.
Yes, you can do this. Intall each card an bind TCP/IP to each card. Next, go to TCP/IP propertis of each card and asign its IP address, subnet mask, etc. This is done quite often by people that use ADSL or cable modem service and also have the PC connectd to a LAN.
