it all started 3 weeks ago when every now and again my computer would freeze then the monitor would just black out and the only way to get it up again was to shut off power and reboot. after about a week I was getting errors such as vxm vmm... so I eventually reinstalled windows98, it worked for about 10 hours and then the same thing, freeze and black out and I could not reboot after that at all not even to safe mode. this time I fdisk and format and reinstall windows. all is peachy until I shut off power and reboot then the same thing can't get past the splash screen and when I get it up it reboots on its own 2 x then black screen. when it is up it works great it just takes about 10 tries to get it there and if I shut down and start up it won't start. however I have power to both the monitor and the drives they just won't spin up. I know what you think but I have tried every virus scanner made and I don't have a virus. HELP
