Specs: Windows 7
My Laptop Toshiba Satellite 205CDS computer won't boot. All I get is a black Screen with Cursor. Could this be due to Bad battery? I have never replaced it.

If the laptop is plugged in, then it will not likely be the battery causing the problem.
This sounds like some files have gone bad, or perhaps a faulty driver...
Can you boot into safe mode (push F8 on bootup) and get access to the desktop?

For openers, is it Win7 or Win9x?

Maybe they mean the CMOS battery. If that is the case then yes it could be the CMOS.

Just because the OP does not come back in 3 or 4 days to reply, does not mean he will not come back and reply.

It would have to be 98 or earlier M2G; it's a Pentium100 machine.
