The light will come on, you can hear everything. Black screen with the green bar rolling back an forth. But that is all it does. Unplug and plug back in system restores and its fine. Usually does around 6 pm. Other wise computer boots up

That is very similar to what I found yesterday with my computer. Vista either won't boot at all, or came up partially.It seemed like a self healing mechanism. Does is ALWAYS stop at the same screen? Id be curious, because in my case http://annoyances-resolved.blogspot... it clearly got better every time. Check it out, I solved my problem with patience and now I'm typing from the same Vista Machine as if it never happened.
