While using my computer lately, it simply shuts down as I'm using it. When I restart it it works for a little while and then shuts down again. Sometimes after 10 min and sometimes after a couple of hours.

Well, it could be hardware, software, or heat related.
The first (simple) thing to do is check your fans and ventilation openings for dust etc buildup. (After you ensure that the fans are indeed running.)
Also check all your connections to ensure things are tightly seated. (Power OFF while doing this step.)

It also sounds like a virus can shut down a computer after a few mins does it do like a count down before it shuts down. I suggest doing a Anti-Virus scan. go to http://www.google.co.uk and download AVG FREE one of the best Anti-Virus software going! Good luck

The Blaster Worm gives you a dialog box showing that you have 1minute to save all applications! there's a tool to remove that called 'Fix Blast' on the Symantec Site. Update ur anti-virus definition files and do a complete scan of the hard drives.
