While using my computer lately, it simply shuts down as I'm using it. When I restart it it works for a little while and then shuts down again. Sometimes after 10 min and sometimes after a couple of hours.

Well, it could be hardware, software, or heat related. The first (simple) thing to do is check your fans and ventilation openings for dust etc buildup. (After you ensure that the fans are indeed running.) Also check all your connections to ensure things are tightly seated. (Power OFF while doing this step.)
