The computer will not start(no bios or anything) about 1 in 10 times. Very annoying. What sort of thing could cause this. Every other time it starts and works very well.

Almost sounds like a weak cmos battery.

Sounds to me like a PSU problem, could be the actual PSU that's faulty, the button on the case may be dicky or the actual wiring from the button to the motherboard may be dicky.... I doubt it's the cmos battery as this just stores the bios settings and doesn't actually contribute to the general post (Power on self test) - memory checking etc etc process... Regards DB

Sounds like short in the motherboard

check for a short in your power cable. same thing happend to me once. it was a cheap fix
