Have a P100, 16mb ram, 1 gig hd and WIN 95. Installed IE 5.5 and am using Bluelight.com free ISP. It connects ok and get to home page but it is freezing up over have the time when surfing. Is it the free ISP and heavy traffic or my computer or IE? I press ctrl+alt+delete and it gets me back to desktop but am still connected. Any suggestions? Thanks
It is alltogether suprising you managed to install 5.5... you don't mention how much free space you have. In brief... you have minimal resources for browsing the web.
You would benefit from a minimum of 32Mb of RAM, preferrably 96 for optimum peformance... as much as you can reasonably afford. Your processor is not necessarily contributing to your problem although it is a lillte overworked.
If not already the case, you might consider an internal hardware modem, not too expensive and may improve your current situation. Much better still, both a memory upgrade and an external modem.
Good luck.
