Help!! All of a sudden my Cd-Rom does not get recognised by the cd rom. When I close the rom door the light just flashes for about 10 seconds whether I have a cd in or not. When I try to run a cd or open my 'computer/d:\' it says 'D:\ is not accessible - drive not ready' how do i fix this please!!!
PS. It doesn't work in Dos either!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a similar problem. Are you just trying to access CDR's or any CD's. My own CD Rom just won't recognise a home burnt CDR, and gives the same message as you. I believe this is due to some older drives being incompatible. Otherwise I am unable to help further. ps. Try re-installing your CD Driver as this may have become corrupted, or removing through device manager and re-booting to enable plug and play to reload it. Good Luck
