CPU/Ram: AMD athlonXP 2100/ 256 ra

I have win 98se installed on an gigabyte motherboard with athlonXP 2100 and 256sdram. when using the computer i get crashes or the blue screen very often. I dont now why this is happening can anyone tell me how to stop this.

the blue screen usually shows certain error messages... can you provide one or more and advise what you were attempting when the error occurred
