I recently purchased a Compaq Presario XL-106 and made the mistake of believing that the CD Emergency recover kit really worked in case of a problem. I did not want any of the compaq software so I formatted the drive C and D and Installed my image from my old Toshiba Laptop. I fiqured like my Toshiba I could re-install the video drivers, modem etc from the emergency CD, that was a big mistake. When I tried to install from the Compaq CD I was given a message that told me that critical files on drive D were not found. Restore aborted. I contacted Compaq and was told that they would have to send me the real recovery disks, since the ones I needed were gone(Compressed on the D drive). I had a real problem with this as I could not understand why anyone would back up to the same physical drive that they were trying to protect?? I found it very odd that compaq's answer was we will mail you the Recovery software, which I thought I had in the "Emergency Recovery Kit" If any-one knows where I can get the drivers for the presario 1200 XL-106 I would really appriciate this...Thanks

There was NO DRIVER in the support page, nor any information regarding where to find it. I just hope I can find it somewhere SOON before I begin to make my campaign against them.
