Compaq Deskpro 2000-No Bios

Comment:
A good friend, my sister, recently formatted the hard drive in the Compaq Deskpro 2000. Of course there was no restore disk. The system now only counts memory and displays Deskpro 2000 at the bottom right corner of the monitor. It will not boot to A drive. I repair and build computers and have tried all the tricks and spent hours on the internet. I don't work on Compaq's unless I can't get around it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. REMEMBER, Won't boot to A Drive to restore the Compaq Bios partition.
Clear the computer's cmos. Sometimes the Deskpro cmos can get minor corrupted values that cause bizzarre behavior. After clearing the cmos, accept the factory default values then it should boot to the A drive fine. The default boot order is CDROM - A - C.

Use a windows 98 boot up disk and select "with cdrom support" and it will give you the A:/ icon. You will have to find the correct version of bios on diskette and then open it on the previous mentioned screen. It will reload the bios on the hard drive and will be ready to recieve an OS.
Please write back to confirm that this works, even though I am pretty sure it will.
