I have a Compaq Armada M700 that will not boot into the OS or floppy drive - invalid system disk, whether or not the hard drive, floppy or cd-rom is in the drive. media or no media, it will not allow me to boot or get to post to get into the BIOS. By the way, what is the key combination to get intio the BIOS.

It must be completing the POST test if you get to the stage of receiving an "invalid system disk" message. Try the F10 key to get into the BIOS.

On Compaq you will see the cursor move to the right of the screen. Begin seleting F10 until you get the Bios Screen.
Ensure the Boot Sequence is set to Floppy; C:; CD-Rom.

I have the same problem with armada 1592. The service guys told me to replace the system board. However I am looking for a cheaper way. By the way I guess you know that the bios of these notebooks are on the harddrive and when formatted they go.
