My computer never used to do this but lately when it begins to think(process) it just stops for a little less than a minute with the thinking light still being lit. It does this with any application. It doesn't do this everytime but when it does this it seems like the resources are low even right after we restart it. It's a 200mhz P1, 32mb EDO RAM, 4.3gb with only 1.5 gbs being taken up, and it's always defraged when it is at 2%. So what do you think the problem is?

Howdy, Well do you have any anti-virus software running in the background that is set to scan the hard drive at certain times? Also, remove find fast from the startup folder if it is present. What programs do you have loading at startup? It sounds like a program is running without you knowing it that is searching the drive but without more details can't say which one.

Laters,

Kevin The Tech Dude.
