I received a disk boot failure and it said to insert systems disk and press enter then it said to type in command interpreter can anyone tell me what is command interpreter thanks

Command inteperter= command.com file which is missing or deleted from the system. boot from a: and write sys c:

the way i cured my command interpreter problem was to fdisk with the switch fdisk /mbr and then replace the commamd.com file in the root of c and the windows directory.

Please be aware : if you follow the advice already given you must make sure that you do not use a fat16 floppy on a fat32 system drive...or you will end up in a total mess. the advice is good but only if you understand what fat32 is , otherwise it depends on how lucky you are when you select that boot disk. just remember - late win95 and win98 command.com and earlier versions are not the same , and if you have been running games by booting from a floppy you now know how this fault was caused.
