Make sure the com ports are enabled in cmos. In windows check ports in control panel-system-device manager. Make sure there aren't any conflicts. Remove any existing mice also in device manager. When everything is OK if it still doesn't find the mouse do an "install new hardware" for a mouse in control panel. good luck.
