I have a IBM ThinkPad 360CSE. I upgraded it from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95. I need to find a 16-bit color driver for it. If any of you an help me, It would be very relieving. Thanks!

Most of the stuff here for the Thinkpad 755 series should work. If not, post back and I'll try and find it

Do some internet searching, and try to find out what video adaptor is in that thing and post that back here

MAKE SURE YOUR READ THIS

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/win95set.txt

which is the "read me" file for the "Windows INF support" at the bottom of the page. It should answer your question.

If I were you, I'd download all this stuff before Lenovo/IBM decides to trash it. There is very little left at IBM for these old machines, anymore

One more thing. When you DO try and download this stuff, an incredibly infuriating pop up comes up called the "download director" You must go down to the bottom and UNCHECK the little window, and then "agree." the download should "pop up" from there. If it does not, good luck. Sometimes Internet Exploder settings can affect this.

PLEASE find and fill out the IBM commments form and BE SURE AND COMPLAIN about the UNBELIEVEABLY irritating pop up.

And, some more reading.

Some files here, some are dead links:

right back here at computing.net:

(You can enter the various filenames into Google and obtain a wealth of info about these old machines)

I guess I'll have to go dig my old machine out and warm it up again......

Sorry for not coming back.
I was away on a business trip. I'm just getting back. I'll try all of these.

I had the same problem with an older NEC Ready laptop. it had the same video driver as the think pad. try going to www.driverguide.com. you will have to register but it is free. the video drive I had to get (fit on a floppy) was NeoMagic MagicGraph 128XD display adapter. Worked fine and corrected the problem. If you want to know what adapter is on your machine, you should be able to find it in the device manager (right click on my computer, select properties, click on hardward tab ) the adapter should be listed there if not, download and install/run www.belarc.com (free) it will give you everything on your computer (serial numbers and all.
Good luck

Vicks2, he doesn't need to go through all that. The URL's I posted have all the original IBM files, so that one "knows" they correctly apply

So far as "finding" the grapics in device manager, that won't work if some form of at least partially correct driver isn't already installed. For example Whenblows may well have "decided" that it was a "standard VGA..."
