Upon boot up the above mentioned error comes up and says press F1 to continue or Delete to enter Setup. When pushing either of the buttons it beeps but no action. I have put the jumper on and cleared CMOS, and put it bac on normal, I have replaced with a known good battery, still won't recognize keyboard. When it boots up it finds correct processor and ram and it finds the hard drives and cd's. Anyone know what to do next. I haven't been able to figure it out, Thanks, Bill

If you leave the system powered on for a short time and then hit 'Reset', does it act the same way?

It kinda sounds like a bad cmos chip, or the chip isn't getting any power, either from the battery or the power supply.

I would get lots of more ideas on this one. That was just an educated guess on my part.
The Cmos is a separate chip on some motherboards, but is part of the Bios chip on others.

Did I understand correctly? You get the Checksum error every time when you hit Reset?

You mentioned "If I can't flash it". Did this happen after an attempt to flash the BIOS. If so, you will probably have to replace the chip.
