My clock thinks it's the year 2000 (right date wrong year). I have set it back both via the control panel and by right clicking on the clock on the toolbar and it sets OK, but when I turn the computer off it resets again to the year 2000 when it starts up again. (Then it tells me my virus detectors are out of date beceause it thinks it is 12 months ahead.) It has only happened since it automatically adjusted itself for daylight savings time. I have disabled the auto adjust but it still resets to 2000. I am running win 98 Plus. I hope this isn't Microsofts answer to the Y2K bug!

check your battery on your motherboard. If it is dead then CMOS changes every time you reboot. Replace batter.....go into bios...change clock setting there.... then windows will get the time from there.

You need to Change the time in CMOS ..upon bootup Follow instructions on your PC on how to get into System from Start up and Change time and date from in there. Or get latest Rom or Bios Update from your manufacturer.
