I recently went to have some scanned pictures copied to disks I had them saved to JPG FILES. While I can use them in Works 4.5 but can't use them in Word? Why ? In word when I insert it Clip Art I got stupid Little sqares and it screwed up my document! But in works it was ok? So what do I save it as? Some one said Bit map?? So what and how do i do ?

JPEG images are used primarily for the web. You need to convert those .jpg to .bmp with a graphics program to get the best results in Word. That said, though, you can use those files in Word, but instead of inserting from Clip Art (which I have no idea why you'd do that) just insert from file. Save those images to a folder other than ClipArt and save from there---see if that works. It does for me.

To convert JPG (JPEG)images to BMP (BITMAP) easily if you have Internet Explorer. Double click the jpg file. As default IE is Windows JPEG viewer (unless some 3rd party program has changed this). Once the image is displayed do ONE of the following: Click on File in the toolbar then click Save As; Or put the cursor on the image and right click the mouse, click on Save Picture As... Choose a folder to save the image in then either accept the default image name or give it a new one. Next click on the arrow in the Save File As box and choose bitmap. You now have a bitmap version of the jpeg image.

just wonder, which version of word? i work with word 97 from office 97. insert from clip art calling jpg files work fine for me.
