I just installed Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 on my computer from Microsofts website. I chose "custom install" because my internet connection is slow. Now, when I click on a link on a website, it brings up a new window like its supposed to do, but nothing shows up in the window. The little globe in the upper right corner spins, but nothing happens. This is very bothersome, because I cant access information that I need. Microsoft suggests editing the registry (Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 329134) but I dont have any of the other symptoms that this article describes. Please help, I like internet explorer 6, but I may have to go to a previous version. Thanks,
Jonathan

Try these steps in the order given:
1.END all programs that are running EXCEPT Explorer & System Tray using Close Program dialog box [Press CTRL+ALT+Delete > Select the program to be ended>End Task and repaet the steps to end all EXCEPT-> Explorer & System Tray ]
2.Click Start > Run
3.In Open: box, type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK
4.When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files [in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below:-]
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
If the problem is still not resolved, you may need to edit the REGISTRYPlease post back.

Repair Internet Explorer: Select START\RUN, type MSINFO32 in the 'Open' box and press enter. From the 'TOOLS' menu select 'Internet Explorer Repair Tool'. Then from the next menu select the repair option.
Enter the following command from the START\RUN box and press 'ENTER'. You will be prompted if the command was successful, regsvr32 Urlmon.dll . If the repair and registering the dll doesn't resolve the problem, run this Microsoft MCREPAIR patch. The patch will install older versions of files that are compatible with Win98. Answer YES when prompted to replace the files. MC-REPAIR
