clibase.dll file missing at startup

We have a PC that when you start up you will always get an error that says "Clibase.dll file is missing or corrupt." We did a search on the HDD and found no such file. We also did some searches and it seems to have something to do with a client of some sort - Novell or Microsoft - i have no idea.

We are not using Novell but we are using Microsoft Networking here. Any ideas - i would just get the file off of the Win 98 CD if possible - but i don't know where the file should go.

I've searched the Win98/win98se/winxp CDs and don't see that file on any of them.

A little investigation indicates that this `might' be associated with SpyWare. I suggest running SpyBot and AdAware.

Also i forgot to mention that everytime you start up the pc and log into Microsoft Networks and it goes into Win 98 it tries to reinstall the printer.

I will try the spyware idea - Thanks

We tried the spyware approach, with no luck. Anybody have any other ideas?
