Haj: I want to instal the chinesse alfabet in a PC; I go to encode in explorer and I try to "get" or download it; after 2 or 3 seconds trying to get it (a window open itself) it came up a second window with a message saying that it is not posible, bla bla. Is there another way to instal the chinesse or the japanesse alfabet? Are them in the CD of the operative system (win98 for instance)? Thank. Daniel. danedot@yahoo.com

It depends upon the version of Internet Exporer and Windows. Newer versions of Internet Explorer support foreign language encoding. For running on Windows 98 IE5.5 is probably better, but only IE6 is available from MS.

Daniel,
Try this. When online go to start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs. Double-click on "Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools." From the pop-up menu, select "add a component." Scroll down this menu and you should see the option to install Chinese (Simplified or Traditional) text support. HTH.
