Sometimes when using various CD's Windows blue-screens with the message 'child protection error' and then reboots. Does anybody know what this means as whenever this happens, after a reloaded the CD drive has dissappeared from Device Manager and there doesn't seem to be any way of getting it back, other than re-installing 95.

'child protection error' is not a win95 error message -
possibilities:
virus
TSR loading at startup

Do you have anything like Net Nanny, Web Watcher or other programs installed that keep little eyes off those nasty sites? They have a habit of doing that to anything they "Think" has a dirty word in the program. Run a good virus scannig program on your pc, could have a virus like the previous post said.
