Chieftain CT-F300E Scanner

My Computer is an older Pentium 75 Mhz with Win 98 and 32 meg of ram. When I originally purchased my scanner I connected it in lime with my old Star Micronics printer on the parallel port and both worked fine. Then I bought and installed a HP Deskjet 712C Printer and it would not work behind the scanner. Connect either directly to the parallel port and they work fine, but not in tandem. Do I need new printer or scanner drivers? Are these two devices incompatible? Will I have to separate them with a device switch? Should I equip the USB port on the mother board with a plug? Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I had the same experienct with a canon 240 printer and had to install a secont parallel port. that was with a pent75. I now have an amd 500 and scanner[chieftain ctf300e] and it wont work at all .the just comes on then nothing else

I found a driver under http://www.windrivers.com/script/drivers.asp?company=Chieftan
I did not download it myself and it seems a bit old.
I'm planning to upgrade from Win95 to Win2000. Was anyone able to use the Chieftain CT-F300E Scanner with Win2000?

I have a Chieftain CT-F300E and the drivers do not work with Windows 2000. I double booted with Windows 98 & 2000 to use the scanner. I have changed to Windows ME and need a driver for ME.
