Hi Kumar

Two things to try...

1.Replace the battery on the motherboard

2.Reset the CMOs settings
Read the manual of the motherboard and see which jumper number is for the clearing of CMOS/BIOS.
The jumper is usually near the battery with 3 pins (1-2-3)

Move the jumper cap from "Normal Operation" which is usually "Pin 1-2" into CLEAR setting for a few seconds "Pin 2-3"

Wait another minute or two, then reseat the jumper cap to normal position

Good luck

Are you still getting the "checksum bad" message at bootup ?

You said you cannot enter the BIOS setup becuase it is "stuck at the main there"
What do you mean by stuck at the main ?

Well, just make sure it's in the KB port.

Open the case and temporarily disconnect the drives and remove all the cards except video. Then see if you can get into cmos/bios setup. By disconnecting all possible hardware you can determine if it's one of those items that's causing it to hang.

Since it works on another machine the problem must be with your computer. Maybe the keyboard connection is bad on the motherboard.

As you say, a USB keyboard may be the thing to try.

Most motherboards have a fuse or an overcurrent protection device to protect the motherboard. You might want to check if you have 5 volts available at the keyboard jack. This is one reason to connect peripherals with the power off. USB has the provision for a hot connect (they also have some form of over current protection.
