I am creating a flyer with pictures on, it contains several JPG pictures which are about 2mb in size, this makes this flyer over 10mb. How can i make the size of the JPG's smaller? Thanks

Jay

The only way I know is to make the Pictures smaller, a good program for this is Photo Express. Hope this helps.

In Photoshop, you can vary the file size of a JPG image. First, save it as a PSD or BMP. Then try to save the PSD or BMP as a JPG. The program will give different “Image Options” that allow you to vary the quality and size of the file.

I use this when I’m trying to convert scanned photos (20MB) to email size files.

If you use a graphics program such as photoshop or something like that you can convert the images into a gif. The quality is not as good but it reduces the size of the image. If i was you I would make a backup of the image and experiment with different formats.

Jay, I sent you an email containing the following text and a .zip file.

Jay,

I do not normally send programs via email but the attached program can no longer be found on the net.

Capture is a standalone program. Just unzip it to a newly created folder in My Documents or where ever you like.

Although it is clean; always scan for viruses first.

To do what you are wanting this is an excellent program.

It is a two part process:
1. Have your .jpg viewable then open the Capture program.
Use the menu button that says Capture an arbitrary
portion. Start at the top left, click and drag to the
bottom right. When you release the mouse button the
program will re-appear with the captured image.
It will only save as .bmp.
For ease; save the image to your Desktop.
After just a couple of tries you will get the hang of it.

2. Open MSPaint. Go to File, Open and open the .bmp.
Go to File, Save As and select JPEG. Give it a name.

The quality will remain as the original and the size will be reduced dramatically.

I use this program almost daily.

Maybe easier solution is to use Microsoft Photo Editor.
