Changing Office 97 Registered User Name

We have a few computers on a network here that need the office 97 username changed. We've tried changing it in word like one person suggested (by going to tools>options>user information), but that didn't work. We also tried a few entries in the registry, but that hadn't worked either. Does anyone know how to change it? Any help would be appreciated.
